- IATSE Local 470 is a labor Union consisting of workers skilled in setting up and taking down temporary live entertainment events.
- Our members and Business Agent work together to negotiate contracts with clients in North-east Wisconsin.
- We utilize a system called a Hiring Hall to organize and assign workers to jobs. The order that members of the Hiring Hall are dispatched in is determined by a number of factors which are detailed in the Hiring Hall Rules and Procedures.
- Jobs for which clients have requested workers are posted to our online Calendar. Local 470 also offers a variety of educational resources for members of the Hiring Hall to develop their skills.
WHAT IS EXPECTED
- Be at least ten minutes early to check in.
- Allow extra time at a new venue to find the check in area and complete paperwork Your call time is when you are expected to be ready to work
- Check in with the job steward at the start of the call and check out with them at the end
- Refrain from using your phone on the job
- Wear work appropriate clothes and close toed shoes
The Job Steward will dismiss you when you are done, do not leave until you are dismissed
The following infractions will mean IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL from a job: Coming to work intoxicated/under the influence of drugs or consuming intoxicants on a job site
- Stealing
- Insubordination
- Taking photos without explicit permission
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring at minimum either a Passport OR a Government issued ID (e.g. Drivers License) and proof of employment eligibility (e.g. Social Security card) for the 1-9 Form. See the 1-9 form for a full list of eligible documents.
Basic Tool List
- Crescent Wrench
- Hard hat (they will be provided if needed)
- Safety toe shoes or boots - Work Gloves
- Appropriate work clothes (Pants, non-offensive t-shirts.)
- Avoid wearing excessively loose garments and jewelry as it can be a safety hazard
